Madeline was telling her Daddy how to hang the mirror!
Madeline is a bossy girl like her Momma.
Madeline wanted to give Lulu a bath all by herself. She would not let us rinse or shampoo Lulu.
We would try to help and Madeline would say " No, me do it"
Last Monday morning, I hopped up at 5:15 a.m. and looked out the window hoping to see lots of snow, well.... it was definitely a let down! We got to play in it for a little bit, but it was definitely not enough to really enjoy all morning. I had big plans, which of course included snow ice cream!
Madeline got to throw a few snowballs at Daddy before he left for work.....
When we are leaving the house Madeline always says "Me drive, too".
I always explain that Mommy has to drive to X and back home, but then she can drive once the car is in the garage. After playing in the snow on Monday morning, she got to pretend drive for a bit. This is a great break for mommy, I can make phone calls, etc..... while sitting in the passenger seat.
The music must stay on. If I turn the music down she says "more music" and turns it up.
Monday night Madeline signed and decorated her Valentine's Cards.
We stuffed individual white bags with Madeline's cards, crazy straws, Animal crackers and bubbles. I also put little peanut butter cups in there, but it dawned on me during the night that Madeline's school is nut free. I was digging them out bright and early the next morning. Oh well, more candy for Mommy.
Madeline got lots of cards, love sent her way and goodies from all her Grandparents (and Great Grandparents, too)
Her Granmommy and Grandad stopped by with a Valentine's for her. She is sporting the matching necklace, hair barrette and bracelet while getting ready for her Valentine's party.

I am not good at decorating bulletin boards. This was the first one I have done and it is kind of pathetic! She learned the heart shape from it, which is the main thing I guess.
Maybe I'll do a better job on the spring edition bulletin board.
I ordered Madeline lots of bubbles from Gymboree for Valentine's and they did not arrive in time so I ran to the toy store and bought her Rody (green bouncy animal below). She loves to walk the dogs so we thought she may enjoy walking Rody, so we put a dog leash on him.
P.S. Gymboree has great bubbles. They are sugar bubbles and do not pop immediately.
Even though I am almost 30 (August) and about to have my second child, my dad still sends me flowers on Valentine's Day. Madeline is checking out my flowers....

Madeline and I played outside while Daddy cooked us a delicious meal. Apparently in his boxers according to the picture above.

Madeline climbed in her chair and said "Yumm, Crabcake" before she took a bite.
The next morning we played outside and she sported her necklace and carried around her frog she got in the mail...
The frog sings you give me fever and Madeline thinks it is hilarious.....
She has really started to enjoy coloring lately, after stripping down for her bath she decided she wanted to color for a little bit before getting into the bath......
She also loves to play nap time.

Nap time is the hardest part of our day.
She likes to play/act it out several times throughout the day. I guess her being in charge of play nap helps her process her dramatic nap experiences (she throws a fit before she goes down).
She will tell me to lie down, cover me up, sing to me and pat me. I started to sing with her the other day and she said -shhhh, no singing mommy. She will do this with her dolls and Ms. Jessie babysat one evening and she had Ms. Jessie do the same thing.
I had a wonderful Valentine's Day. I have never been much of a Valentine's person, but this year was so much fun. I definitely want to make this a family holiday that we celebrate together for as long as possible! I loved preparing for her school party and decorating the house for her. Everything was very last minute since I was not a big Valentine's person, but that will be different next year since I am now a Valentine's person!
The only other Valentine's Day that beat this one was when Ben surprised me by sending flowers to Chi-O house my junior year in college(2003). I expected the card to say Love, Dad but it said - just wanted to put a smile on your face from 1,500 miles away, Ben.
That day we made it official that we were a couple even though it would be long distance for another year and a half.
Now look at us!
