First Airplane Ride

We woke up on Saturday, August 20th and had a very busy day! I went to Shelly's Baby Shower and then we hit the road to pick Big Momma up in Pine Bluff and then we headed to the Little Rock Airport.

As we were getting ready to leave town, Rick flew in from his 3 week African Hunting trip. We had enough time to visit for a little bit and then we hit the road. Rick's best friend on the trip killed a 94 pound tusked elephant, which is one of the biggest killed in like 40 years. I think over 50 pounds is a trophy and Rick's biggest is 70 something pounds. Way to go Matt!

Our flight did not leave until 8:30 pm. I was a little nervous becasue we were not leaving until after her bedtime, but Madeline did wonderful! She loved it and I loved Vision Airlines! They were so nice and great with kids! Since school had started, the flight was full of little bitty kids.

We made it through security.....

There was a 2 year old girl, Madeline loved to play with. They were running around and would hold hands. Somehow, I did not get the sweet friend Madeline made in any of the pictures.

On the trip, instead of saying Big Momma, Madeline would say Momma or Big.
She would point to Big Momma and say Momma and then point to Ben and say Daddy.
Some people may have been a little confused.

Take off......

By the time we got to the condo, it was very late so we unloaded our stuff and went straight to bed!

More to come on our Fantastic trip to Destin!

Church Neighborhood Block Party

Last Sunday, our Church hosted a neighborhood back to school block party. Our church is located right off of Emma Street in Springdale. There was a HUGE turn out! Our church collected school supplies to hand out, offered immunizations, hair cuts, dental check ups and lots of yummy food. This was the first one and based on the turn out, I assume the church will try to host it again next year. This is definitely a program I want to get more involved with next year. I remember getting so excited about going school supplies shopping and clothes shopping right before school started. I hope this event allowed kids to experience that same excitement right before they started school!

There were also pony rides.......

Madeline kept pointing to the pony's hair and saying "bow"

She loved riding the pony! Madeline is fearless

First snow cone......

Madeline did not understand why she could not get in this bounce house.
There were lots of big kids in this one, not like Connor's party we just left with only tiny kids in the bounce house. Finally, she just wanted to go over and touch it.
There was a band playing and Madeline enjoyed doing a little dancing while we ate our yummy bar-b-q with all the fixins!

Catch Up

I have been an awful blogger lately!
Here is what we were up to the week before last.
Big Momma came into town to keep Madeline on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday while I worked.
One evening after dinner it started pouring rain, since we could not play outside we headed to Cherry Berry for some ice cream.

On Thursday, we made some items for Daddy......

Ben was busy with a Golf Tournament all weekend so I did not take any pictures. We were busy but no pictures to document:(
Ben's Parents kept Madeline on Friday night so we could go to the Tournament dinner. It was nice to get out and about for a little while.

On Sunday, we headed to Connor's 2nd Birthday.
Madeline LOVED the Bounce house. Love at first jump!

Happy Birthday, Connor!

After the birthday party, we headed to our Church's back to school bash.
I'll post pictures in the next post!

Last Week Update

Last Wednesday, we had our first doctor's appointment.
It was the day after my 29th birthday, which was a great present hearing everything was great.
I had a fear that they may say, your home tests were incorrect and you are not pregnant. But it was positive!

Below we took some pictures in the nurse's office. We did this when I was pregnant with Madeline and we thought we should carry on the tradition.Ben even posed with the same prop off the bookcase. I wore the same skirt that I wore to my 1st appoitment while pregnant with Madeline.
We are dorks!

Yesterday, August 9, we got to see and hear Baby Penix's heartbeat and we got his/her first picture.
After the appointment, Ben said, he forgot how cool it is hearing the heartbeat. I have to admit its one of the best sounds. I was a little nervous, but Baby Penix looked perfect. Mary Pat measured him/her and said  the March 27 due date is correct.

Last weekend, my Dad came up to visit Madeline.
She got him to swing her while she enjoyed her watermelon.

No, I am not sharing my watermelon with you...

Ben always finds a chore for my Dad when he comes to visit.
This time they were changing a light fixture in our kitchen and Madeline wanted to be their helper.

My brother came up for the weekend too.
Madeline loved putting(shoving) her finger in Uncle Neal's ear.

Let me try to snick my finger in Neal's ear while he is not paying attention....
We went to Herman's for dinner and Madeline did not  cooperate.
She wanted to look at the fish or go outside.
Ben took her outside a lot! Once they came inside, she wanted to sit on my dads lap and poured a glass of ice water on her and my dad. He took her outside to walk around so they could dry off. While they were outside I ate and then took over so Ben and my Dad could eat.
Our days of eating out with Madeline and coming to an end, I think. She wants to do anything except sit in her highchair.

Madeline LOVES Lulu!

Madeline and I made a tent with chairs and a comforter. While we did that, Ben put her little tent up in the den.  He set it up with books, stuffed animals, blankets and pillows.
Madeline loves playing in it.

I watched Madeline run to the kitchen, she grabbed a clean bottle (it should be for olive oil) and ran back to her tent and started feeding her sock monkey.
Good JobHusband, he put my Chi-O blanket on the floor so she can see the Chi-O crest as she walks in.
I guess we are already starting the Chi-O pressure.

Then she decided she needed to pat his back...

I think someone will be a wonderful big sister!
