Guess Who's One Week Old Today.......

Our sweet little Madeline is one week old today. I cannot believe it. This past week has flown by. I held and cuddled her at her birth time this evening and then dad read her a book while I held her. I teared up realizing she is already a week old.

I was alone with Madeline for the first time today. Big Mama had to leave to get her hair done. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. Madeline slept the entire time my mom was gone so my first time alone with her was very calm. I enjoyed our special time together.

We also tried out tummy time for the first time. Madeline is not a fan at all!!!! Maybe she will like it more tomorrow.
Madeline- your daddy cannot wait to get his hands on you after he gets off work. He came by on his lunch break today to get spend a little extra time with you.

What big eyes you have..........

I took some pictures of Madeline yesterday and cannot believe how wide eyed she is getting. She is only 6 days old in the pictures but looks so old to me. Our little baby girl is already growing up before our eyes.

Madeline- Your mom and dad love you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Madeline's First Doctor's Appointment

We went to Madeline's first doctor's appointment at Northwest Arkansas Pediatric Clinic today. Dr. Mahan said Madeline is a perfect baby (Mommy and Daddy agree 100%). Madeline still measured 21.5 inches long and she weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces. That is only 4 ounces less than her birth weight. She is a big eater so we will see what she weighs at her appointment next week.

We had a cookout with Penix Grandparents (not sure what their name will be....), Big Mama and all of Madeline's uncles.

Madeline's First Big Outing

We got up and got Madeline dressed for her first big outing today. Big Mama drove us to my doctor's appointment and daddy met us there. After my appointment, I was starving so we decided to go eat at SCC and did not realize it was Monday until we got there and it was closed. La Huerta was across the street so we went there instead. Madeline was so good the entire time we were gone and loved her carseat carrier.

I am always on time to appointments(or used to be) and learned being on time is not always easy for moms. We were ready to leave for my doctor's appointment and Madeline decided that she wanted to eat more.... Once I fed her I was ready to run out the door and then realized I
had to change a dirty diaper. I felt awful being late, but I am on Madeline time these days!

Madeline and Molly

Molly Ross came to visit Madeline yesterday. They will have so much fun growing up together! Madeline was dressed in her owl attire, which may be a sign that they will be future Chi Omegas together just like their mommies!

Molly was adorable and we cannot wait to get together again!

Roller Coaster

Madeline loves to have her hands up by her head and face. Her hands were in that position in every ultrasound picture.

Madeline was in my lap the other day and Ben walked in and said she looked like she was on a roller coaster. I started dying out laughing, which was really painful because of the c-section incision, but it was hilarious and true.
Madeline is practicing for her first roller coaster ride.

Daddy and Madeline

Daddy reading Madeline's first book to her a few hours after she arrived: On The Night You Were Born

I’m gonna watch you shine
Gonna watch you grow
Gonna paint a sign
So you’ll always know
As long as one and one is two
There could never be a father
That loved his daughter more than I love you

Dinner at Shoguns

Ben's parents took us to dinner last night. We went to Shoguns and it looked like we were in Colorado. You can see the snow in the background. Our food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal! This will be one of our last times to go to a restaurant without having to bring a lot of baby items in with us.

Madeline's Due Date- 1 Day Overdue

This is the reminder that popped up when I logged onto my work computer this morning. Thanks for reminding me!

My maternity leave officially begins tomorrow!!!

It has warmed up a lot today and all the snow in our yard is almost gone. I cannot believe how quickly the winter weather/snow came into town and moved out.  This was a picture that I took of Lulu at lunch today and now all that snow is gone.

We are about to meet Ben's parents for dinner. Madeline's timing is perfect because Betsy is on Spring Break this week!

Big Mama (my mom) is coming to town tomorrow.  We are ready for her to get here!

Madeline's Due Date

Today is Madeline's due date and we are still waiting! It is hard to believe that her due date is today!!! This pregnancy flew by and I have loved every moment of it. It feels like yesterday that we were calling our parents to tell them the exciting news.

It is hard to believe that by this time next week, I will not have this pregnant belly anymore. Not having the belly will be a little sad, but like I said before, holding her in our arms will be so much better! I have loved watching my belly grow and comparing pictures each week. Feeling her move inside of me and watching my belly ripple like a wave is such a miracle. Ben and I enjoyed sitting on the couch each night watching and feeling her kick and roll around.

I wish we could get out and enjoy the first full day of spring at the park, but we are in a winter storm. We woke up to a lot more snow then we expected and it is still snowing!! I cooked us french toast and we are about to play another game of Phase 10. Ben cannot stand that I beat him last night and woke up and immediately wanted a rematch.

The pictures below were taken earlier this morning so the snow is deeper than the pictures show.
