Weekend Fun!

Saturday we woke up, headed to the library, ate lunch at Greenhouse Grill, headed home for rest time. After rest time, Ben headed to the basketball game and we headed to Bennett and Oliver's 2nd Birthday Party!!!! It was magical!!! Boingo Bounce is always a hit. They had a DJ and much, much more in the party room! Their mommies planned a special day for their sweet boys!

Win liked the music and stayed close to the speakers before the big surprise....
The DJ  introducing a special guest....

 Waiting for the surprise guest.....
Graham not so sure he is going to like this guest....
 Surprise, it's Elmo!!!!
I had the camera on Madeline so I could get her immediate reaction, she was not a fan!!!
She loves to read about Elmo, but does not care to see him in person!!!
She was quickly attached to my leg....

I think Knox was the biggest fan....

We enjoyed dancing to the music from afar.
She told me she does not like Mascots. Guess she thinks Elmo is a mascot!!
Poor girl! When we are at home she acts like a "mean mascot". She says hey mom " I'm a mean mascot".

She waved bye and said Bye Elmo from afar as well.

We met Grandmommy and Grandad at our house for her first sleepover at their house all by herself !
(When Graham was born, Grandmommy and Big Momma spent the night with her for 2 nights at our house when I was in the hospital. But other than that, I have been with her every night.)
As soon as they got to our house, she said, "it is getting dark, we better go."
She had a great time. Grandad said he went into the bedroom to check on them, Grandmommy was asleep and Madeline was looking around. She puts Ben and me to sleep sometimes in her bed.

P.S. Graham loved being the only child for the night!

Madeline was waving, blowing kisses and said " See you in the morning"
Such a big girl!

Ben and I thought she would be so excited to see us when we picked her up in Sunday school.
Boy were we wrong, she ran right past us and said " I'm going to big church with Grandad"
Miss Independent!

Email  sent to my mom, which explains the jar. I am too tired to write something ( very hard hot yoga class after church and then we worked in the yard for the rest of the afternoon). I will copy and past!

For lent, we are raising money for Imagine No Malaria. Madeline chose Sanford Khamala from Kenya (suffering from Maleria) to help. It only takes $10.00 to prevent, educate, communicate, diagnose and treat a person with Maleria. A person in Africa dies from Maleria every 60 seconds. A picture of our jar is attached. We plan to raise $50.00 over the next 6 weeks and  take our jar back to Chruch on Easter Sunday. The United Methodist Church will match any funds we donate. The combination of our jar and the church donation can save 10 lives!

We could easily put $50 dollars in the jar, Ben's preference,  but i want Madeline to see us doing it a different way. I plan on giving up fancy coffee drinks and will donate that money to the jar on days I would go and buy one, I discussed with Madeline there may be a few times we will not get to buy something she wants to help someone else to become strong and healthy and she can put the money in the jar (sonic trips). I told Ben instead of buying beer or a bottle of wine, he can donate to the jar, his reply was, why can't I do both. Kind of defeats the purpose of lent, but I will happily put any money in the jar.

Mom and Rick-  If you have any extra change around the house will you bring it up for Madeline to put in the jar when you visit. Mom, I think the plan is for you to come up soon.

xoxo,
Leslie

We love it!
And this surprise is on Ben!
I was dressing Graham up in bows and headbands the other day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

BestValentine's gift ever from my sweet Baby Graham! Daddy Bear came pretty close though!
In the picture, he looks so tired! And I have never figured out why the teachers always leave bibs on them when they take pictures. Oh well, I love a picture no matter what and am so Thankful for it!

We are not ones to go out and buy a lot for Valentine's Day. We usually do a low key dinner with fabulous food cooked by Ben. This year Ben went all out and I bought quite a bit for the kiddos. It was nice for a change, but we will go back to our more simple Valentine's Day next year. We try to celebrate Love and our family regularly with candlelit dinners, etc... so Valentine's is not that different, except we put lots of whipped cream and sprinkles on our healthy morning food items and smoothies.

When Madeline woke up, we called Daddy and he ran home from work so we could open our goodies!

I have wanted vintage lockets from Mae's Emporium for awhile and they got an M and G locket in so Ben surprised me with them. I loved the vintage valentine card that was attached to the wrapping.
Mae's adds extra special touches!!

I opened the M locket and it had a black and white picture of a man inside. I would love to know the stories behind the lockets. I may just leave him in there and put Madeline's picture over it.

Headed to Kindermusik class with Ms. Ruth!
We all wore Valentine colors!

When we got home, we had Madeline and I had a surprise from Grandpa Gary at the front door.
My dad has sent me Valentine flowers for as long as I remember and now Madeline gets them too!

That evening, Grandmommy and Grandad brought the kiddos Valentines....
Graham not so sure about his....

 Madeline giving her sweet hugs!

We begged Ben's parent to stay and eat. We would not take no for an answer soooo Ben, Madeline and Grandad ran back to Richards for 2 more fillets.
Betsy kept saying she hated barging in on our romantic Valentine's dinner..... yeah right, with 2 kiddos!!! Plus, we had a special night out the Friday before. Ben's parents got us tickets to the play Memphis at Walton Art Cente. It was so fun and I loved watching the dancers that were in my yoga class that week. Ben said the guy that visited my yoga class was the best, I agree!!!

steaks Ben picked up from Richards.
They were wonderful!!! One of the best ever!
 Trying to find the ear.
Madeline is addicted to rubbing ears!

Still not sure about his Valentine gift..... His name is Cupig

 I'm outta here!!!
As we were going to bed we got another delivery from Mam-maw and Uncle Larry!
Our UPS guy comes so late!!! We had so much fun opening it and finding all kinds of goodies!
And my mom/rick gave us some money to spend on something fun.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful Valentine's!!!!
I know it is not about all the special gifts, but about the love and we surely felt loved, but I have to admit that we feel your love being sent to us everyday! I feel so blessed that my children are in a family that loves them so much and people show/tell them how special and loved they are.

Graham was waving bye bye when his grandparents were leaving. Grandmommy started blowing kisses and he blew them back. I believe this was the first time he blew kisses. What a great Valentine's Day trick!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
