Fun at Breakfast

Mommy has fun playing in her food after she finishes eating too. I was drawing pictures and writing her initials in the food with the spoon.

Oh Christmas Tree

I love to sit by the Christmas Tree with Madeline and let her play with the ornaments and look at the lights in the tree.

 And then she notices the dog on the dog bed...

Santa Baby!

We have been trying to take Madeline to see Santa for over a week now. Last Saturday it was way too cold to get out, she got sick on Monday and we took her to the mall yesterday and the line was too long for me.

I asked Madeline  if she was worried about her gifts since she is going to get her list to Santa late. At first she had to think about it...........

and then she said no way mom, read what my shirt says!

Well finally, Madeline got to meet Santa and his elf at a Christmas party we took her to last night.

She loved Santa! We are so glad Bo and Clair Bittle were Madeline's first Santa and Santa's Elf to meet. The theme for their costumes this year was Disco Santa and Disco elf and Madeline loved their afros!

I had to post the picture above because Ben and Madeline have the exact same look on their faces!

We are going to the mall tomorrow for the traditional Santa picture.

Family Time!

I love when the three of us and Pucci and Lulu have time to play as a family. I bought Madeline a pop up castle last summer and we decided to try it out. I think Ben and the Dogs like it a lot more than Madeline.

 Dad, lets check out my piggy bank and let me know how much I have saved up.

When we remember to take our reusable grocery bag to Ozark Natural Foods they give us a nickel back and that always goes into the piggy bank and Ben puts his spare change and dollar bills in there.

8 Month Update

I cannot believe I am just now getting to Madeline's 8 month update! She will be 9 months next Friday (Christmas Eve). Madeline was tons of fun, very active and learned to communicate what she likes and dislikes. As you can see above, she does not like headbands and bows. You can also see she likes carrots. I took the pictures after lunch and I did not do a very good job getting the carrots off her face. She has a slight orange coloring around her mouth. She had her first temper tantrum (back arching, kicking, pulling her hair). The temper tantrums happen when I put her down for her nap. This girl hates to go down for a nap,but is a good napper once she goes down. She moved from her whale of a tale tub to her duck tub and loves playing in the bath. She went from the sitting position to all fours and can lean over, reach in any direction and does not fall. She loves to pet the dogs and watch them play. She loves attention and loved all the attention she got over  her 1st Thanksgiving. Still loves her school and teachers. Is a big eater now. Loves lots of food but I think she loves bananas (roasted bananas were really a hit). Is not a fan of chick peas.  She started sitting in the buggy seat while we go grocery shopping. She started holding her hand up and saying bye.
She is still sleeping with Ben and me at night. We have not even tried to put her in the crib at night. We keep saying we are going to move her, but we really, really love her next to us at night.

We love everything she started doing even if it is a little tantrum. I want her to express her feelings no matter good or bad. I may feel differently when she starts having them in public one day. We are so blessed to have such a special little girl in our lives. We love you, Madeline!!!

Nurse Daddy

On Monday our sweet little girl started running a fever. I could tell when she woke up she was warm and I kept taking her temperature under her arm and it did not show a temperature. I finally got brave and took it the way they say your should take a temperature, from her sweet bottom and it confirmed she had temperature. We were so sad because it was the evening of her school Christmas party and there was a gift waiting on her that Santa was going to give her. The fever spiked Monday night and continued until Wednesday. Since I work on Tuesday and Wednesdays, Ben stayed home and nursed her back to good health. We went to the doctor on Wednesday and of course her temperature was almost gone when we got there and it has stayed down since. The doctor said it is just viral and I talked to Madeline's friend/classmate Addison's mommy and she said Addison had the same thing last week. It scared me because her temp got up to 104.1. She felt fine but she was really tired on Wednesday.

I loved coming home and seeing her outfit Ben dressed her in everyday. A diaper. On Tuesday, I came home and she was in a diaper and socks. She has a chubby tummy and while sitting around in her diaper she loved to rub her big belly, which was adorable. I caught her grabbing and pulling on a fat roll last night.

Madeline and Daddy love to make motor boat noises. Madeline spits everywhere when she does it....
